Teeth are one of the first features we notice about people and are a major factor in our confidence and self esteem.

Here at Mangorei Dental Care we provide the best in New Zealand restorative dental care with the latest technologies. We guide you through the process of restoring your smile.

CEREC Restorations

We use state of the art CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology. Using this renowned technology, we are able to restore chipped, broken and fractured teeth with ceramic fillings, crowns and veneers.

We complete the procedure in a single session, so there is no need for a second visit. The materials we use are very safe and we can achieve perfect looks, comfort and quality that are long lasting and durable.

Worn down amalgam fillings cause teeth to crack and fracture. These cracks may spread towards the nerve in the centre of the tooth causing the nerve to die. The tooth may then need a more invasive form of treatment. Early diagnosis and replacement of worn down and cracked amalgam fillings can prevent this.

Bonded ceramic restorations like CEREC are superior alternatives to amalgams and maintain long-term stability and health of your tooth.

Composite Restorations

Composite restorations are tooth coloured fillings that are used to restore both the front and back teeth. They offer excellent appearance, durability and resistance to fractures in small to medium problem areas.

CEREC restorations are advisable for larger areas of concern, as composite materials are perfect for targeting smaller areas.

Composite restorations are completely amalgam free (mercury free) and provide better aesthetics and a stronger tooth structure than outdated amalgam fillings.

We also offer bridges in addition to other dental restorative services.

Dental Bridges

A bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable partial denture.

Bridges can:

  • Restore your smile
  • Restore the ability to properly chew and speak
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Distribute the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

Dental Crowns

Crowns are bespoke tooth shaped covers that are placed over a damaged tooth to restore the look, shape, size and colour of your tooth. These can be done either in one session with the use of CEREC technology or in two sessions depending on individual circumstances.

A crown is a type of Dental Restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth. Crowns are often used to improve the strength or appearance of teeth. As new technology and materials has evolved, computers are increasingly becoming a part of crown and bridge fabrication, such as in CAD/CAM Dentistry.

There are additional situations in which a crown would be the restoration of choice for Dental Implants and Endodontically treated teeth (Root Canal Threapy). After root canal therapy is performed, a tooth becomes extremely brittle and is significantly weaker than its vital neighbours. Molars and pre-molars should in almost all situations be crowned after undergoing root canal therapy to provide for proper protection against fracture. If an endodontically treated tooth is not adequately protected by a crown, there is a chance of it succumbing to breakage from normal functional forces.

Materials used include ceramic, gold or ceramic fused with metal. These materials provide great durability, appearance and function. Crowns that require laboratory fabrication are sent to highly experienced New Zealand Laboratories ensuring that the fit is absolutely perfect.
